I had all good intentions and actually got the Stelton strap (grey) that I liked so much. Read about it here. But all good intentions are still good intentions didn’t help much. I realised that going around with a strap around my neck wasn’t my thing. Since the shape of cell phones look a bit different now, we nowadays have a cover for our phones instead. I got mine in Bangkok. Got a wallet too. In silver. And boy do I love my silver stuff.

Thank God I got two wallets since a wallet tend to look, well, let’s just say not so good after a long wear and tear. It is soon time for me to start making wallet No. 2 my main man, best friend, someone I can trust. And yes, I do have a smaller sized coin wallet too. Cute, don’t you think?

The phone cover. Looks lovely. Works like a charm. No scratches on my phone, no sir. However. Muffles the ringing.

Alas, I still can’t hear my phone ringing. Does it matter much? Not really, I have a very nice cover for it so who cares? Maybe the people that are trying to phone me cares. Sorry guys!

Awful. Simply awful. Not Tom Dixon. He is not awful. It is awful that I missed his lecture at Designboost.

Tom Dixon is my designer hero. I love what he does. As if it isn’t evident by now. I don’t know how many posts I have about his products.

And I keep coming back to the products he designs. I guess I always will.

For instance, I wouldn’t mind having a Tom Dixon couch, and a Tom Dixon coffee table, and well, two arm chairs like these (but with black legs). And to finish it off why not place a couple of candle holders on the coffee table. And why not a floor lamp beside all this?

And a dining table would be good to have too.

That’s right: Cape Town, South Africa.

The World Design Capital is an interesting phenomenon. And it does a lot to the city in question. I wrote about it last year. You can read the post here. And now it is Helsinki’s turn to host events in the name The World Design Capital. The Finns have indeed made an interesting program that spans over the 12 months of 2012. Read all about it here

Finland is a country of many great designers. And I trust more are to come in the years ahead.

Bokus har den. Bland andra. Spelar ingen roll var du köper den/läser den. Men gillar du att läsa och gillar du recept så blir du inte besviken. Det blev inte jag iallafall.

Åtta ansikten tittar besviket och nästan lite förtvivlat på mig i dunklet i restaurangen. Jag känner att jag nästan vrider mig av obekvämhet.

Slutet av året och julen närmar sig med stormsteg. Julfest som stavas julbord. Kollegorna menar ju så väl, men det blir så fel. Inte julbordet. Det går väl an. Inte för att jag är speciellt traditionell när det gäller julmat (heller). Skulle egentligen njuta mer av ett smörgåsbord av rätter från hela världen, men det är väl bara jag verkar det som. Så, OK, jag följer med och äter julbord.

Va? Ska du ta POTATIS? Varför tar du potatis? Ta det som är DYRT säger de och lassar upp det som de tycker är dyrt. Vad det nu är. Allt i fiskväg verkar det som.

Jag tar några potatisar och lägger upp lite fint på tallriken. De dansar runt lite innan de lägger sig till ro bredvid senapssillen, klicken med gräddfil, hackad rödlök, ägghalva och röd kaviar. Se där, jag äter ju inte BARA potatis. Men ni som känner mig nu vet ju att jag faktiskt inte kan koka potatis. Och just därför är det ju så gott med nykokta små potatisar som smälter på tungan. Typ. Jättegott tycker i alla fall jag.

Julskinkan står jag över. Har kommit på att jag gillar kalkon bättre. Inte för att skinka är skinka. Jag äter alla sorters kött, men jag gillar Rudy’s stuffed turkey.

By the way…

Kommer ni ihåg att jag hade en massa vänner från Haiti när jag bodde i Miami? Som lagade en massa mat. I alla fall, Rudy var en av dem. Och han lagade en stuffed turkey som jag fortfarande lagar efter hans recept. Ibland gör jag den av en hel kyckling istället för en turkey. Kalkonen blir så stor och det smakar lika gott med en kyckling.

Så med det sagt, här kommer receptet på Rudy’s stuffed turkey. Använd kalkon om du vill. Kyckling om du vill. Det går bra vilket som.

Rudy’s Stuffed Turkey

1 turkey (eller kyckling)
2 tsp salt
2 tsp black pepper
½ cup chopped onions
½ of an onion sliced
1/3 cup chopped green peppers
½ cup of green pepper cut in strips
½ cup of fresh chopped parsley
½ cup of fresh parsley uncut
4 or more (or less) cloves of garlic
1 lb of butter (ca 455 gr)

Add 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp black pepper, lite pressad vitlök, onion, green peppers and parsley to butter. Work into paste.

Cut small opening in each side of breast but not cutting the skin of the bird and work knife so to slice the interior of the breast. Stuff paste into openings. Repeat same for legs and thighs.

Season bird inside and out with remaining salt, pepper and garlic. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in oven at 350 degrees for about 3 hours. Drain juice into pan for sauce. Continue cooking at 350 degrees without covering, basting bird every 20 minutes with sauce and removing accumulated liquids from bottom of baking pan. When golden brown, remove bird from oven, let sit for ½ hour before serving.

Add ½ cup of an onion sliced, ½ of a green pepper cut in strips and ½ cup of parsley to sauce add salt, black pepper and garlic to taste. Let simmer.
